The Headteachers and Bursars Handbook of Sustainable Procurement was first published in 2007, having been inspired by government’s Sustainable Schools Consultation Document.

The Handbook was designed to provide school leaders with a summary understanding of sustainability within education as well as a comprehensive directory of sustainable suppliers, and it was widely supported by teaching practitioners and LEA’s alike.

Now in its third edition, the Handbook of Sustainable Procurement is a highly regarded and well-respected publication that is circulated to 32,000 schools each April. Each new edition provides schools with updated information on the sustainable schools initiative, as well as cutting-edge analysis and advice from experts in the field of sustainability.

This section exists to allow you to catch up with the information included in previous editions of the Handbook of Sustainable Procurement and read a range of articles, case-studies and explanations of the eight sustainable schools doorways.
