Dedicated to Renewable Energies

Mosscliff Environmental Ltd. first became dedicated to renewable energies when they decided to become a low carbon office and reduce their emissions by 80%.

They discovered that there is a lot of renewable technology about, but that it is incredibly difficult to find the best equipment to use.

Mosscliff began sourcing what they believe to be the best equipment available (using equipment manufactured in the UK wherever possible) and are now ideally placed to help schools in their quest to become more ethically powered.

Reducing Costs

Mosscliff Environmental Ltd has worked with a number of schools as well as other community projects to help them install renewable energy systems and can help schools access grants that in many cases will cover 100% of the cost a of wind turbine.

Once installed, a wind turbine will help reduce the energy cost of a school, and through Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC’s), schools can potentially use their turbines to generate additional income.

Wind Turbines

Wind turbines are probably the most cost effective way of generating electricity via a renewable resource and are therefore ideal for use in schools that are looking to become more sustainable.

For wind turbines to be effective they have to be located correctly with regard to local wind speed, obstructions such as buildings and trees, proximity to neighbours and planning constraints.

Mosscliff Environmental can offer schools help and advice on all these factors and if they don’t believe a wind turbine will work in the proposed location they will inform the school immediately.

Supplying and Installing Turbines

The turbines that Mosscliff have selected all have good low wind speed performance so, if sited correctly, should be able to generate reasonable amounts of electricity.

Mosscliff can supply and install turbines from 1kw to 20kw which are BERR approved and can advise schools of which turbine best fits their needs.

On a typical site in East Anglia an 11kw wind turbine will generate about 30000kw/h of electricity. That means that with the ROC’s and the electricity saved by the school, it is worth about £6000 per year!

Official Installer

Mosscliff Ltd is the official installer for a number of wind turbine manufactures including Gaia which is one of the most efficient wind turbines available.

They are happy to give advice to schools and help them through the process of planning, grant application, construction and commissioning.
