Creating Inspirational Classrooms
Interior Design specialists YSD4Kids explain how well-designed classrooms can have a positive impact on pupils’ learning, motivation and achievement.A building’s interior design can have a huge impact on occupant mood and behaviour, and well-designed and comfortable school buildings can greatly boost pupils’ morale and productivity.
Interior design company YSD4Kids is dedicated to helping schools maximise the potential of their interior spaces and works with schools to help them improve their indoor environments.
User-Friendly Classrooms
YSD4Kids believes in creating user-friendly classrooms that are bright, colourful and practical. Their bespoke-designed interiors use a variety of textures, colours, surfaces and fabrics to stimulate pupils, motivating them to participate in the life of the school.
Their design specialists work individually with schools, recognising that each school has differing needs, and try hard to incorporate pupils’ ideas into their designs as well as the views of Headteachers and other teaching practitioners.
Interior Design
Interior design is a relatively new concept for schools and many educational establishments are not yet reaping the benefits of well-designed internal areas.
At present, many schools are designed with magnolia walls and standardised furniture and fittings, and school leaders don’t know where to turn for advice on how to improve their classrooms and communal areas.
New Concept
YSD4Kids offers schools brand new concepts in interior design, and can work to improve the interior of any educational facility, from nurseries to secondary schools and school libraries to reception areas.
Their unique design concepts include photographic images printed onto wallpaper, hexagonal tables that can tessellate to form a variety of shapes and practical solutions for recycling bins in classrooms.
Experience
YSD4Kids has a great deal of experience in designing for children and the company’s founder, Julie Barrington, has over ten years experience of interior design along with experience of managing educational environments.
YSD4Kids provides a highly personalised and professional service, where quality and attention to detail are of utmost importance, and every design is specially created to match the customers’ precise vision.
Their recent projects include the Grecian Centre at Exeter City, a Play for Success Centre that needed to have the functionality of a classroom without retaining the feel and appearance of one.
The Centre was an outstanding success, using comfortable seating and moveable furniture to create an inspirational space in which pupils could participate and succeed.
Sustainable
Schools are increasingly looking to become more sustainable and YSD4Kids strives to achieve sustainability in all its works and services.
All their designs are created to help schools save money and resources and their designers are happy to work with schools to help them achieve their 2020 sustainable schools targets.
